Providence Hospital
Columbia. SC

Providence Hospital Northeast stands as a 46 bed in-patient community hospital and medical office building. RPA Design developed a long-range master plan supporting the client’s vision of a 250 bed campus. With RPA Design’s assistance this long-range plan moved from a client’s vision into a project implementation phase.

The project team was a collaborative group consisting of RPA Design, HLM Design, RMF Engineering and M.B. Kahn Construction, for pre-construction services. Additions and renovations for emergency room, radiology, surgery, patient tower, power plant, and exterior infrastructure rework are all part of the project plan. Renovation of almost the entire first floor of the hospital and exterior planning are neccessary to keep the hospital operational throughout construction. The project includes 139,000 square feet new, 125,000 square feet renovation, and 11,900 square feet of central energy plant. Estimated construction cost equal approximately $50 million. The project was completed through GMP level documentation and is on hold pending Certificate of Need re-submittal.
